Now that international travel has resumed, we are monitoring the international situation very closely and provide updates in line with all significant developments.

Traffic Light System

The government's ‘traffic light system’ for international travel, sets out the measures required for travel to the UK, assigning all countries a colour based category.

All our destination countries have currently been classified as ‘Amber’, with the exception of Germany, Austria and Croatia which are on the green list.

Arrivals from an amber list country into England, Wales and Scotland from 19th July (26th July into Northern Ireland) will no longer have to quarantine if they are fully vaccinated 14 days or more prior to returning. Scotland has relaxed the law on international travel to and from Scotland, but continue to advise against travel for leisure purposes.

Children aged 5-17years of vaccinated parents will also not be required to self-isolate when travelling back from amber countries, however they will need to take a PCR test on their return to the UK.

“Pass Sanitaire” – demonstrating your COVID status in France

From 21st July, people attending spaces in France with over 50 people will be asked to demonstrate their COVID-19 status through the “pass sanitaire”. From 1st August, anyone aged 18 and over will need this to access a range of leisure facilities (bars, restaurants, museums, cinemas), hospitals, and modes of transport such as long distance train and bus journeys and planes. You can therefore also expect to have your COVID status checked when you arrive at your parc. The pass sanitaire can be acquired by fulfilling one of the following three criteria:

  1. Vaccination certificate, illustrating that you are fully vaccinated with a vaccine authorised by the European Medical Authority. This means:
    -  One week after a second dose of Oxford/AstraZeneca, Pfizer/BioNTech, Moderna.
    -  28 days after a single dose of Johnson & Johnson.
  2. Negative PCR or antigen test result from the last 48 hours.
  3. A document (dated more than 11 days ago and less than six months ago) proving you have recently recovered from COVID.

The French government has confirmed that anyone visiting France after being vaccinated in the UK will be able to demonstrate that you are fully vaccinated either by presenting your NHS certificate through the NHS App, by downloading or printing the document, or by presenting your NHS letter.

The COVID-19 Green Certification - demonstrating your COVID status in Italy

From the 6th August, a green certificate will be required to access many public spaces in Italy including - but not limited to, indoor seating in bars and restaurants, museums, exhibitions, well-being centres, swimming pools, fairs and large events. It is not required to enter campsites.

The green certificate shows proof via a scannable QR code that the holder has either:

  1. Been vaccinated (anyone who has had their first of two vaccine doses are able to access it from the 15th day after it was administered until the date of the second dose).
  2. Recovered from COVID-19 within the previous six months.
  3. Recently tested negative for the virus.

The EU COVID Certificate will also be accepted by venues where you are required to show a green certificate. The Italian Government has confirmed that the NHS app/certificate will also be accepted by venues for anyone travelling from the UK.

I want to go on holiday in 2021. What should I take into account?

We understand that you are very much looking forward to your 2021 holiday, but that you also have doubts whether you should already book it. After all, the summer of 2021 is still far away. Is a camping holiday a safe holiday?

Yes it is! A camping holiday is safe and it has a number of important advantages:

  • You will be spending most of your time outdoors 
  • you have plenty of space around your self-contained accommodation
  • In most cases your accommodation has its own sanitary facilities

What does your Covid Guarantee cover?

Many of our accommodations have Covid Guarantee. We have clearly specified this for each accommodation with a covid guarantee stamp. Covid Guarantee means that if your holiday cannot go ahead due to Covid related travel restrictions, we guarantee a full refund of your travel sum! It is also possible to rebook for another destination free of charge from 4 weeks prior to arrival. 

The following situations are considered as Covid related travel restrictions: 

  • There is a negative travel advice for your destination 
  • The region where you live is in lockdown
  • Your booked campsite or accommodation is closed due to corona

What if I book without the Covid Guarantee?

If you book accommodation without the Covid Guarantee you can rebook, get a voucher or full refund as of 10 days before arrival if:

  • The campsite and accommodation are closed
  • The campsite is open but the accommodation is closed

You can rebook or get a voucher as of 10 days before arrival in case of:

  • The FCDO advising against all but essential travel for your destination 
  • A lockdown of the region you live in

What do you mean by a negative travel advice?

Negative travel advice means that the country of your destination does not accept tourists or that your own country advises against travelling to that destination. 

If you cannot reach your destination because you have to travel through a country that does not admit tourists, this also considered a negative travel advice.  In the above cases you can rebook your holiday to another destination or get your money back according to the conditions of the Covid Guarantee.


I have already booked and I am not sure whether I want to go on holiday. What can I do?

We advise you to wait and see. In 2020, we have seen that in all countries the situation improved rapidly from May onwards. Many people ended up going on holiday with us. This could happen again this year. Especially now that vaccinations are being carried out throughout Europe. If you have booked accommodation with a covid guarantee, you also run no risk at all, as you can rebook or cancel free of charge shortly before departure in the event of covid-related restrictions. 


Can I postpone my holiday to 2022?

Rebooking to 2022 is only possible if there is no good alternative available where you can safely go on holiday in 2021 (where there are no Covid-related travel restrictions).


I or one of my fellow travellers has Corona at the time of departure. What can I do?

An infection with Covid-19 is not covered by the Allcamps covid-guarantee.

However, when you have Covid-19, for most insurance companies this is a valid reason to cancel your holiday. Therefore do not forget to take out a cancellation insurance and check the conditions.


I am in quarantine and about to go on holiday. Can I cancel free of charge?

If you are not infected yourself, but have been in contact with an infected person and are therefore in quarantine, this is not a valid reason to cancel your holiday free of charge. Of course we are happy to find a solution together, such as rebooking your holiday. In that case, please contact us as soon as possible so we can help you.


What if I have to go into quarantine at my destination or on my return to the UK?

If the UK government or the country of your destination requires a quarantine period upon arrival, this is considered a negative travel advice, which means that the advice of the government is not to travel to that destination. In case of a negative travel advice, you can change or cancel your holiday free of charge, if you have booked an accommodation with Allcamps covid-guarantee.


Can I go on holiday if I have not been vaccinated?

At the moment it is not clear if countries are allowed to refuse tourists when they do not have a vaccination certificate and if so, if this will actually be carried out. As soon as more information becomes available, you will be able to read about it here.


I don't want to go on holiday if I haven't been vaccinated. Can I cancel free of charge?

Unfortunately, this is not a reason to cancel or rebook your holiday free of charge. If you want to cancel your booking, the regular cancellation conditions apply. 


I am waiting for a vaccine, what if the appointment is scheduled during my holiday?

We can imagine that you would like to be home so that you do not miss out on the vaccination. Although it is not a valid reason to cancel your holiday free of charge, we will be happy to look into rescheduling your holiday to another date in 2021. Our travel specialists will be happy to assist you.


Can I cancel free of charge if I have to show a negative PCR test on arrival?

If your holiday destination requires a negative PCR test, this is not a valid reason to cancel your holiday free of charge. You will have to bear the cost of the PCR test and it is your own responsibility to ensure that the correct tests are carried out.


What if I am travelling from one destination to another and I need to show a negative PCR test?

At the reception of the destination where you are staying before you leave for the next destination, they can help you find a test site. Some campsites have their own test centre. The cost of the PCR test is at your own expense and it is your responsibility to ensure that the correct tests are carried out.


Which additional measures can we expect at the campsites?

The measures vary from campsite to campsite and are also subject to change. In 2020, all major facilities, such as swimming pools, were open as usual. There were mainly additional hygiene measures such as disinfection points and a mouth mask requirement in certain areas of the campsite. We will be able to provide more clarity on this when we get closer to the summer season. For more information, also concerning the different countries, please check the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the World Health Organisation (WHO). Additional rules and measures at your holiday destination are not a valid reason for cancelling free of charge.


Will I receive a compensation if not all facilities are open during my holiday?

Last year we found that most facilities, such as the swimming pool, were open as usual, sometimes with some adjustments. You will not receive any compensation if campsite facilities are not open due to Covid-19. We try to inform you as accurately as possible on our campsite pages about which facilities may not be open, but we cannot guarantee that this information is complete.


I want to exchange my Corona voucher for a new booking, how do I do that?

If you have received a Corona Voucher from us, you can exchange it for a new holiday on our website. You must redeem the voucher before the expiration date. Your holiday may take place throughout the whole of 2021.

  • You can easily make your new booking yourself online on our website
  • You can choose from the total range of campsites and accommodations
  • Select 'Voucher' as the payment method and enter your voucher code
  • If your voucher amount is higher than your booking amount, the remaining amount will remain available on the voucher

I have chosen to transfer my (down)payment to a new booking. How does that work? 

  • You can easily make your new booking online on our website.
  • You can choose from the total offer
  • Write down your 2020 booking number in the comments field
  • You make the down payment
  • We will transfer the payment of your 2020 booking to your 2021 booking and send you the confirmation and invoice.
  • It is not possible to cancel a rebooking free of charge.
