At a stone's throw from the beach and the town of Houlgate, in a hilly area, lies the family campsite Homair La Vallée. Ideal for a short holiday, or just if you don't want to go too far away, but still want to get away from it all. The coast of Normandy also has a lot of interesting things to offer.

 

Water recreation Homair La Vallée

Camping La Vallée is known for its large water park. All outdoor pools (open from May 1) here are heated, so even if the weather is a bit less nice, you will be fine here. And the slides here are really top-notch! How about the Space Bowl, a super-fast funnel slide, and all the slides are also heated. There is also a heated indoor pool, with a paddling pool and whirlpool that is open all season. In short, bring your swimsuit (not Bermuda shorts) or bikini and come and enjoy yourself here. Besides, the sea is also just around the corner, less than 1.5 kilometres from the campsite, and the wide sandy beaches of Normandy.

Facilities Homair La Vallée

The facilities are widely assorted at La Vallée, so doing nothing is not an option here. The children entertain themselves at the table tennis, beach volleyball or soccer fields, or of course in the large playground. The older youth will find each other in the game room. Animation is available throughout the season, but in July and August, there are some fun extra things, such as a diving class for beginners. After dinner in the restaurant, you will of course stay for a fun evening with shows and, for example, the Mr. and Miss camping pageant. There is a camp store, but there are also several large supermarkets nearby.

 

 

The surroundings of Homair La Vallée campsite

The town of Houlgate is within walking distance of the campsite and is pleasantly touristy in high season. Another nice town to visit is the lively Cabourg. Also, go searching for crabs and shells on the beach in the morning at low tide. In the region, there is a lot to see and do, especially for those interested in the story of WWII, such as the invasion beaches and the memorial of Caen. Also very interesting for slightly older children. Highly recommended for a day trip is Mont St. Michel. Art lovers can admire the Tapis de Bayeux, an embroidery no less than 70 meters long that depicts the Battle of Hastings. 

 

 

On arrival you will have to pay a deposit (cash) of € 20,- for the barrier card and € 20,- per family for the wristbands for access to the pool.
The official rules for the slides are as follows: The Kamikaze is for 12 years of age The Spacebowl is from 16 years onwards The other slides are from 7 years of age.

We loved our holiday here. Staff were great and very helpful. The accommodation was spacious and spotless. We loved the cycling. It was in a great location except for the beach which may he a mile away but not unless you can fly.
