This region is made up of a part of the Pyrenees in the north with an altitude of over 3000 metres and the flatter southern part, which is mainly used for agriculture. Lérida is very sparsely populated, which means that you can enjoy a lot of beautiful nature here. Perfect for nature lovers!

Great activities and excursion destinations in Lérida

This beautiful and relatively unknown region in the northwest of Spain offers nature lovers and outdoor sports enthusiasts a wealth of activities and natural beauty. Hiking, cycling and mountain biking tours, ballooning, caving, kayaking and rafting are just a few examples. Extreme sports such as canyoning, hydrospeed, pointing or hang gliding are also possible here. In the Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park you will find many hiking trails and cycling and mountain bike routes. Find the best one to suit your taste and fitness level. This natural park is home to meandering rivers, deep blue lakes, torrents and waterfalls, peat bogs, dense forests, rocky deserts and rugged peaks, as well as a rich variety of fauna. A wonderfully untouched area. Cycling and hiking tours are also worthwhile through the flatter centre of the region, which is mainly used for wine, olive and pear cultivation.

We recommend the Vall de Boí with its art-historical treasures, the nine Romanesque churches with their beautiful murals, and the Caldas de Boí thermal baths with their 56-degree Celsius hot springs. Wine lovers should take a walk along the Lleida-Costers del Segre wine route and sample traditional and new white and red wines.

For cultural excursions, the provincial capital of Lleida on the River Segre is well worth a visit. Visit the beautiful old town with the impressive cathedral La Seu Vella, the bell tower, the large cloister, the royal palace Castell del Rey and the Castell Templer de Gardeny. You can take a stroll through the stores and from café to café on the wide riverside street and the main street in the old town.

Early risers can make their way to the Costa Dorada. There are many great excursion destinations here, such as beautiful beaches, great sightseeing and shopping options and, for your children, theme and water parks, zoos animal parks and aquariums.
