The Costa del Azahar is situated between the Costa Dorada and the Costa Blanca. It is not the most famous 'Costa', but the coastal towns of Denia, Peñíscola and, of course, Valencia are certainly not unknown. This destination has about 120 km of fine sandy beaches with lively promenades and secluded bays, where you can enjoy the peace and sunshine. The coast offers the possibility of practising numerous water sports or sailing. One of the main attractions is a visit to the Columbretes Islands, a nature reserve consisting of several islands of volcanic origin. An excursion to this paradise for diving enthusiasts can be started from different points, such as Castellón, Peñíscola or Oropesa. It can be done in one day and you can enjoy the crystal-clear water and observe the underwater life. The region has several monuments and castles, and you should not miss the walled city and the castle of Papa Luna in Peñiscola or the castle of Morella in the interior of the province.
