Camping L'Ile d'Offard

The campsite has a heated outdoor pool where young and old love to splash around. For the little ones, there is a paddling pool where they can splash and play safely. Around the pool are sunbeds, perfect for a few quiet hours with a book or a cup of coffee and as a bonus, a beautiful view of the castle of Saumur. The pool is uncluttered, clean and ideal for families who like to keep it small. No slides or busy water parks – but a nice place where children can move freely, and you can keep a close eye on everything. For adults, there is a wonderful spa.

The city of Saumur has set up a recreational spot on the Loire River where you can swim safely in the summer. There is supervision, canoes and pedal boat rentals, a play area and picnic areas. A wonderful place for water fun with the whole family, away from the campsite.

The kids have fun in the playground, on the bouncy castle or at the kids club (4-12 years) with circus, crafts and dancing. During the day, there are sports tournaments, archery and petanque, and in the evening the whole family enjoys live music, karaoke or open-air cinema. A wine tasting is not lacking either –while the kids laugh at mascot Dino, they discover local flavours from well-known wineries. While the children are having fun, you yourself will finally find time for a good book or a chat with those friendly neighbours from the mobile home next door. 

And after such an active day, you can sit down at the atmospheric restaurant overlooking the illuminated castle of Saumur – yes, it looks nóg more beautiful in real life than in the photos.

On the menu? Local dishes, pizzas, fresh salads and children's dishes that they will eat. Prefer something easy? Get something from the snack bar and eat together outside on your porch. 'In the morning, you can get fresh croissants at the campsite store and for the necessary groceries, you don't even have to leave the island.

And for those who want something more active: just 2 km away you can canoeën or take a boat trip on the Loire. Campsite manager Cédric and his team will make sure that no one is short of anything!

This campsite is located on an island in the Loire, within walking distance of the charming centre of Saumur. A huge plus – you walk to the bakery, the market or a cosy terrace. Don't forget the imposing castle, which overlooks the city and river beautifully. In the area, you will find castles, vineyards, cave dwellings and cycling routes that take you past the most beautiful spots. A boat trip on the Loire or a visit to the tank museum (a favourite with many children!) will complete your holiday. This is a region where culture, nature and child-friendliness go hand in hand.
