The situation
The cleanliness
We stayed at Carmen Plus, the accommodation was ok only the cleanliness left a lot to be desired! The coffee machine was completely missing even though it was listed as included. We were lucky and got one at the reception. The reception and cleaning staff were very unmotivated and inflexible. As we were probably there at the end of the season, there was hardly any ice cream at the kiosk and unfortunately there was no entertainment for the children either. The pool is very tiny, stinks of chlorine and only has a small slide for children. We never visited the restaurant as it was unfortunately only open very irregularly. We really liked Lake Balaton itself and it was also great for the children. It would be nice if all the restaurants, bars etc were open while there were still guests.

The experience was okay. There wasn't much entertainment for the kids or sports facilities. We pitched our large campervan in a very small spot on the street, next to a passageway leading to the lake. The pool was closed for two of our five-day stay. The showers were excellent, and the toilets and bathrooms were cleaned daily. The large number of mosquitoes under the lamppost where we were pitched was extremely annoying and inconvenient. It was almost impossible to air the campervan.
