Your perfect water paradise on Lake Maggiore

Welcome to Camping Lido di Sesto in Sesto Calende - a picturesque holiday resort on the Ticino River and Lake Maggiore, where water activities, relaxation and exciting experiences in the beautiful province of Varese await you. Whether you dream of boating, cycling along the lake shore or enjoying the real Italian atmosphere, Lido di Sesto is the ideal starting point for an unforgettable camping holiday.

Swimming facilities at Camping Lido di Sesto

Camping Lido di Sesto is located where Lake Maggiore flows into the Ticino River, which means endless possibilities for water activities. You can sunbathe on the manicured green spaces right on the shore or relax by the outdoor pool, open from June to September. The associated water sports centre offers boat rentals, and both canoes and motor boats can be rented, even without a license. If you bring your own boat, you can dock at the marina and get technical assistance if needed. The cooperation with Marina di Sesto provides covered jetties, and the beach is only 250-1,000 meters away, perfect for days full of play and relaxation by the water.

Facilities at Camping Lido di Sesto

At Camping Lido di Sesto the facilities are designed with comfort and nature experience in mind. In addition to water activities, you can rent bikes and explore the beautiful surroundings along Lake Maggiore on two wheels. The campground's cozy restaurant serves authentic Italian cuisine, which you can enjoy on the veranda overlooking the lake. The bar also offers snacks and a delicious breakfast, so you will be well prepared for an active day. All in all, you get the perfect combination of natural surroundings and modern facilities for a relaxing vacation.

A brilliant holiday.
Plenty to do in the surrounding area
It wasn’t busy, even though it was peak season
Beautiful surroundings
Smaller than expected
The reception was sometimes unstaffed
The gate was operated from reception, so staff were essential for vehicles to exit.

I wouldn’t recommend this campsite.
The accommodation alone is a plus point
The holiday park is a marina for pleasure boats; you can’t swim in the lake, but you can swim at the marina’s restaurant. Furthermore, a large part of the park is rather barren; the area you look out onto is used as a boat storage area during the winter months.
The park is not freely accessible but is accessed via a barrier which, from a certain time onwards, is operated remotely only. You do need to ring in advance to arrange this.
And bear in mind that the park is situated on the approach path to Milan Malpensa Airport – in short, a plane flies overhead every 10 minutes. The railway line behind the park is used intensively at night for freight transport, so is this really a quiet area?
