De Watersnip

As soon as the sun breaks through, laughter sounds at the large heated outdoor pool. Here, children enthusiastically slide down the wide slide or float quietly in the paddling pool. Even in cooler weather, there is plenty of water fun thanks to the heated temperature and playful water sprinklers. Everything feels orderly and safe – that gives peace of mind. Around the pool are sunbeds ready for parents who want to refuel.

If you prefer to sit with sand between your toes, you can walk to the beach in no time. A beautiful dune path will get you there in no time, with towels under your arm and a cooler full of goodies. The beach of Petten is wide, clean and wonderfully quiet – perfect for a day of building, shovelling and paddling.

Camping de Watersnip is lively, but never too busy. Just right. Small children can play endlessly in the outdoor én indoor playground, jump on the air cushion or cycle along the safe paths. During high season, the animation team organises fun activities every day: crafts, treasure hunts, dancing – it all comes along. The mini-disco is the highlight of the day for many.

For you, there is room to unwind. In the morning, get fresh rolls from the mini-market, ’in the afternoon, have a drink on the sunny terrace. Don't feel like cooking? Then sit down at the restaurant with familiar classics on the menu. You can also get an ice cream or fries at the snack bar.

The Watersnip is located in a place where everything is close by. For example, you can easily walk to the village of Petten, where you can eat or drink something on a cosy terrace. Fancy a day out? De Goudvis amusement park is just around the corner and is ideal for younger children. The dunes of Schoorl are a treat for adventurous hikers – and a climbing dune for the daredevils. Or visit the Zwanenwater nature reserve: a beautiful area full of butterflies, birds and water.

For an outing with a touch of culture, you can easily drive to Alkmaar. There, stroll along the canals, discover quaint stores or check out the world-famous cheese market. And after that? Back to the campsite for a children's evening show, a good glass of wine and rosy kids who roll right into bed.
