Camping Kogerstrand

Swim here in the largest ‘swimming pond’ of all: the North Sea! From your tent or mobile home, you can walk across the dune and stand with your feet in the sand. The sea is close by, the beach is wide and clean and is perfect for endless sandcastle building, paddling or a refreshing dip on a hot day. Because the beach slopes slowly into the sea, it is also suitable for young children. And don't forget the sunset – it is truly magical here.

Kogerstrand is a place where children can do their own thing. The campsite is in a nature reserve, so here they don't play in a busy square, but in the dunes – with space, fresh air and plenty of adventure. There is a nice playground, and in high season the animation team organizes craft hours, games and treasure hunts every day. Want to read a book yourself or just do nothing? No problem; the kids will be busy all day.

Practically, everything is also well organized: there is a camp store for fresh rolls and groceries. For an easy evening, dining options are nearby, including cozy beach pavilions where you dine with your feet in the sand. And yes, charging points for electric bikes have also been thought of – handy for your exploration of the island.

Texel is one big adventure for families. From the campsite, you can walk straight to De Koog, a lively village full of cozy stores, terraces and ice cream parlors. A day out? Ecomare – the seal sanctuary – is within cycling distance and is a real hit with children. The Sommeltjespad is also a must: a playful walking route full of ‘magical creatures’ hidden among the trees.

For an active day, hire bicycles (also with child seats or strollers) and explore the island together: along meadows, through forests and of course to other beaches. And if you want something other than sand between your toes, there is also a subtropical swimming paradise nearby.
