Camping Terra Alta

At the campsite, you will find a fine restaurant where locals also like to eat. In fact, that says it all. The menu is small but surprising, with honest dishes from the region. You can relax on the terrace with a glass of wine from the Terra Alta region, while the kids choose an ice cream.

The atmosphere is friendly, quiet and authentic. Just right for families who want to get away from crowds and screens, and just enjoy écht contact and being out and about together.

Here, the holiday really begins as soon as you leave the campsite. Directly from Camping Terra Alta, you can cycle up the famous Via Verde, an old railroad line without traffic, which winds through tunnels, along rivers and over old bridges. Ideal with children, even if they're not yet biking very briskly. Bicycles can be rented at the campsite, by the way.

Nearby are charming villages such as Horta de Sant Joan and Gandesa, where you can drink café con leche in a village square among the locals. A visit to the mountainous Els Ports Natural Park is also a must: here you can make impressive walks, spot vultures, and you can even encounter mountain goats.

For a day of something completely different, you can drive to the spectacular amusement park PortAventura World in just over an hour. But you'll notice: it's the little things that make this region special. A little market, a ruïne, a stream to paddle in or a nice wine tasting at Celler Cal Menescal in the village.
